A study and exploration of human movement has formed the basis of Penny’s professional career with her passion for Pilates becoming a natural progression from a career in dance.

Having studied dance and Pilates since the early 1990’s, Penny developed a thorough understanding of how beneficial Pilates could be in maintaining a healthy body, improving strength and preventing injury.

Following graduation from the Australian Ballet School with an Advanced Diploma in Dance, Penny was awarded a scholarship to dance with The Boston Ballet. Continuing to dance with Opera Australia on a casual basis, she has performed in various productions including Fledermaus, Rinaldo, Lakme and Julius Caesar.

Penny attained a Graduate Certificate in the Pilates Method (UTS) in 2001, receiving the honour of dux of her year. Her love of movement and the human body has created an enthusiasm for teaching and conveying the benefits of movement through Pilates.

Over the years, Penny has furthered her experience by working alongside leading Pilates practitioners throughout Sydney and in Vancouver, Canada. She continues to develop her skills with a strong interest in rehabilitation, re-education and the incredible connection our mind and life experiences have on our body.

Penny believes that the mind and body cannot be separated. This is very much evident through her intuitive teaching style and has lead to her interest in alternative therapies.   Her first passion remains movement and the body’s incredible ability to change and adapt.
